The Fulton Chain of Lakes Performing Arts Council, Inc. has announced the program for the performance by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra that will take place under a tent at Inlet’s Arrowhead Park on Friday, July 24 at 7:30 p.m.
The first half of the program includes classical favorites, while the second half will include selections that will keep within the event’s theme, America the Beautiful.
The concert will commence with Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, followed by Three Dances from the Bartered Bride: Polka, Furiant, and Dance of the Comedians by Bedrich Smetana.
Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67 will finish off the first portion of the concert.
Rodeo (Buckaroo Holiday and Hoe-Down), by Aaron Copland will kick-off the second half of the concert, followed by Selections from The Sound of Music by Richard Rodgers, arranged by R.R. Bennett.
Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s 1812, Overture Solonell, Opus 49 will be the next selection.
The program ends with a singalong of America the Beautiful by Samuel Augustus Ward.
General admission tickets for the performance are $30, and tickets for the Cocktail Party at Woods Inn are $125.
A limited quantity of teen tickets, available to ages 19 and under, can be purchased for $15.
All tickets can be purchased at the Old Forge and Inlet Information Offices.
Lawn tickets, available on concert night only, are $10.
The orchestra will present a free children’s concert at 3 p.m. the day of performance.
Musical entertainment under the tent will continue on Sunday, July 26 with a free concert by the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division Band at 2 p.m.
The 30-plus piece stage band will present a program that includes patriotic, jazz, rock, and Dixieland music.
