Wildlife art auction to benefit Inlet Public Library on July 8

The Inlet Public Library invites all library, art, wildlife and party lovers to a special wildlife art auction on Tuesday, July 8 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The event, a library fundraiser, includes a blind silent bid of 30 limited edition fine art prints from the collection of library benefactor, the late Scott Stuart, wine and hors d’oeuvres.

There will also be a raffle for a highly-prized artist’s proof, Teddy McBear, by late wildlife artist Vivi Crandall.

Crandall’s prints, as well as those of Belgian-born artist Carl Brenders, complete the collection.

According to library friend and researcher/coordinator of the event, Becky Hasemeier, both Brenders and Crandall were trained in the European tradition.

Vivi Crandall’s are valuable artist’s proofs, she said, and all of the works feature museum-quality frames with conservation glass.

“We are grateful to Penny Stuart for continuing Scott’s tradition of supporting the library.

Scott was always so generous to us, and the sale of these prints will honor his memory, and his commitment,” said Mary Jane Lasher, library board president.

Works are presently on display at the Inlet Library. Early bidding begins on July 4 during library hours, and continues until the evening of the auction.

Event admission is free, and commemorative Inlet Public Library wine glasses will be available for $10.

All proceeds from the evening will benefit the library.
