Woodgate Chapel: Leif Frymire preparing a fall mission trip to Belfast, Northern Ireland; presentation slated for July 5th

GWW_0375The First Presbyterian Church of Boonville will hold it regular Sunday morning worship on July 5 at the Woodgate Chapel in Woodgate.

Commissioned lay pastor George Whitton will lead worship at 10:30 a.m., and communion will be offered to all who would like it.

Also, at the service will be a presentation by Leif Frymire, who this fall will be moving to Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he will be working with a local Presbytery and Community group that focuses on reconciliation and continued peace between the Roman Catholic and Protestant communities. 

0fde950This opportunity is facilitated through the Young Adult Volunteer program of the Presbyterian Church (USA) mission agency.

Frymire is from Woodgate and is a graduate of the Town of Webb UFSD and St. Lawrence University where he majored in Government and History.

While in school, he participated in varsity soccer and track and field.

He was also a member of the youth group at Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church and participated in several mission opportunities.

The Presbytery of Utica has granted Frymire $2,000 to help defray costs of his trip.

A special offering will also be taken at the Woodgate Chapel following the service of worship.

Constructed in 1883 for the purpose of gathering the people of the White Lake community to worship God and to promote a spirit of fellowship, the chapel is open during the months of July and August.

The chapel is under the supervision of the Westminster Moriah Olivet Presbyterian Church of Utica and its services are interdenominational in nature.

Woodgate Chapel is located on Route 28 just south of Woodgate Drive. It is handicapped accessible.

All are welcome throughout the summer.
