Herkimer County Legislator Patrick Russell delivered the following Proclamation to Town of Webb School students during an assembly on Friday, March 20 in commemoration of the boys varsity alpine team’s recent New York State Championship win:
WHEREAS, The Town of Webb schools boys alpine ski team dominated their Section III opponents all year; and
WHEREAS, On February 23, 2015, the New York State Championships were held, at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, New York. On that day, the slalom was run and Webb built a remarkable lead on their opponents by way of a first place finish from Carter Lawrence, and a 16th place finish from Connor Glasser; and
WHEREAS, The next day, the giant slalom was held, and at the end of the day, Webb’s team score was 38 points in the slalom and 31 points in the giant slalom for a combined score of 69 points, beating the second place team of Saratoga by only one point; and
WHEREAS, The Webb alpine ski team took home the state championship, its second since 2010; and
WHEREAS, Carter Lawrence was the New York State Individual Slalom Champion and Connor Glasser was awarded the boys Sportsmanship Award for Section III; and
WHEREAS, Their teamwork has brought great respect, admiration and recognition to the Town of Webb Schools, the community and Herkimer county and such dedication and determination should be recognized and accredited; Now, Therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That I, VINCENT J. BONO, Chairman of the Herkimer County Legislature, do deem it fitting and appropriate to honor the Alpine Ski Team members:

And their coach Tom Down,
And proclaim Saturday, March 21, 2015 as the Town of Webb Schools Day, in Herkimer County and urge the residents of the County to join in the celebration.
