At its annual Christmas Party, Central Adirondack Kiwanis recognized member Bob Teesdale for his contributions to Kamp Kiwanis, a summer camp located six miles north of Rome, NY that provides adventure and a creative outdoor experience to its campers.

A favorite activity at the camp is fishing in the pond located on the property.

Early last spring the camp’s director announced to the state’s  many Kiwanis Clubs the need for a way to keep and grow worms for the fishing campers.

Teesdale responded to the challenge and volunteered to resolve the need. His groundbreaking efforts in establishing a Bait Corral at Kamp Kiwanis were more than successful.

He left no stone unturned in his work to design, plan and execute the perfect habitat for worms to multiply, thus assuring campers and staff a continual supply of bait for their angling experiences.

In presenting Teesdale with the Central Adirondack Kiwanis’ first-ever worm award, President Mike Griffin said, “Your Central Adirondack Club is very proud of your accomplishment in assuring that the kampers at Kamp Kiwanis have the basic tools to enjoy their fishing experience.”

Central Adirondack Kiwanis, with the assistance of the Adirondack Bank Golf Classic, provides four camperships to Kamp Kiwanis each year.
