Kiwanis toy collection for Kids Project beginning throughout area

Each year the Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks collects and distributes gifts and toys to special families in the Woodgate, White Lake, Otter Lake, Thendara, Old Forge, Eagle Bay, Inlet and Raquette Lake areas.

This year’s effort will also serve Long Lake and Indian Lake.

The organization will be partnering with The Marine Corps League “Toys for Tots” Program, and as in the past, Kiwanis will be assisted by the Marine Corps League in providing gifts for the older children on Santa’s List as well.

Kiwanis member Bill Ransom  will be assisting with the League’s local efforts

Gift and toy collection locations will be at Adirondack Bank, Community Bank, Dan’s Big M, George’s Thing, Kinney Drugs, Old Forge Department Store (ACE), Inlet Department Store (ACE), Old Forge Hardware, Smith Marine and Souvenir Village.

In addition, there are toy collection sites at the Old Forge, Eagle Bay, Inlet, Thendara and Woodgate post offices.

The Marine Corps League will also participate in the Old Forge Adirondack Christmas on Main Street Parade on Friday, November 28 and will have a van on-site to collect toys and gifts at the event.

The gift and toy collection runs from Thursday, November 20 through Monday, December 15.

Kiwanis members Chris Gaige and Linda Kurtz are co-chairs of the event.

The Key Club of the Town of Webb School will assist Kiwanis with the holiday project and will participate in the gift wrapping party at VIEW on Wednesday, December 17 from 3 p.m.

This program provides gifts and toys to over 200 families in the Central Adirondack region.
