Most people remember the late John Briant as the author of the popular Adirondack Detective Series, however he also enjoyed painting as a hobby following his retirement as a New York State Trooper.
He served a 29-year career with Troops D and B as a State Trooper and a BCI Investigator that began in 1953.
Briant was an avid supporter of the Old Forge Library up until his death in 2013.
His family continues his legacy by sharing his paintings with the library.
The paintings are currently available for sale and on display in the Gallery/Quilt room of the library through December 31st.
A portion of each sale will be donated to the Library.
