The new owners of Palmer Point, Michael and Cindy Nelson, were excited to host the Central Adirondack Sailing Association (CASA) 2014 Sunfish Regatta at Palmer Point on Sunday, August 9th.
The Nelsons stated that CASA was started in 1965 at Palmer Point and they look forward to bringing back Palmer Point at the center of sailing on Fourth Lake and the Central Adirondacks.
While the sailors struggled a bit with lack of wind, they all eventually made it back to the beach where Palmer Point provided exciting prizes and refreshments for the sunfish sailors.
First place in the youth division went to Charlie and Carey Lorraine.
First place in the teen division went Sarah Cowles and Meg Lorraine and first place in the adult division went to Amy Steigerwald and Laura Kirsche.
First place in the non-sunfish division went to Emory Nelson and Evan Nahor sailing a Pico sailboat.
The sailors look forward to coming back next year to Palmer Point with more wind!
CASA thanks Palmer Point for hosting the regatta and to Mark Steigerwald, John Jeffrey and Chris Eichar for running the regatta.
