Fulton Chain of Lakes Assn. Annual Meeting set Aug. 16 at Woods Inn

The Fulton Chain of Lakes Association (FCLA) will hold its annual meeting at the Woods Inn in Inlet on Saturday, August 16th.

The meeting will begin with a cookout and live music at 6 p.m.

There will be a cash bar. All are invited to come by car or boat.

The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members, which includes a one-year membership to FCLA.

The Fulton Chain of Lakes Association (FCLA) was founded in 1968 with a mission of protecting the 6.8 billion gallons of water of the Fulton Chain of Lakes in New York’s Central Adirondacks.

The water quality in the lakes was very poor at that time. Septic systems were tested, and faulty ones were repaired.

The water quality of the lakes began to improve within a few years.

For the past 46 years, FCLA has been active in matters involving both water quality and water safety on our lakes.

A large part of the organization’s mission is to educate the public on the law regarding the use of fertilizer near the lake, introduction of invasive plant species into the lakes and navigation laws on the water.

The annual meeting will be an opportunity for everyone who is interested in Fulton Chain of Lakes to meet board members, learn more about the FCLA, ask questions, and express ideas and concerns.

FCLA is always looking for people, who enjoy these lakes, to help protect them for future generations.

There will be a display showing the different invasive species that we should all be on the lookout for.
