An auction of a portion of the wildlife art collection of the late Scott Stuart held in support of the Inlet Public Library on July 9 was a tremendous success, according to library board member and event organizer Reggie Chambers. Enough funds were raised to make the library’s furnace replacement initiative a reality, she said.
The auction of 20 framed works of art and prints donated by Stuart’s wife, Penny, was the highlight of the evening that also included wine and hors d’oeuvres and a raffle for a framed print, Chickadee with Apples. The print was won by Danicia Nerschook of Inlet.
During the event, a bronze plaque to mark the Scott Stuart Memorial Garden on the grounds of the library was revealed.
Chambers said they are planning a similar event for next year, and thanked the Seventh Lake House, Woods Inn and Red Dog Tavern for providing hors d’oeuvres, and The Wine Shop for their wonderful selection of wines.
