Jolly Moosers Craft Show, Big Moose Fire Co. Chicken BBQ slated July 12th

The Big Moose Jolly Moosers’ annual Bake Sale, Crafts and Flea Market will be held on Saturday, July 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Big Moose Fire Hall. The Fire Hall is located approximately five miles from Route 28 in Eagle Bay on the Big Moose Road.

Vendors will fill the fire hall with a variety of handcrafted items: baskets, large and small wooden pieces, hand painted rocks, lamps, handwoven rugs, pillows, knitware, jewelry, books, and games.

An assortment of homemade pies, cakes, breads, cookies and other baked goods will be available at the Bake Sale. Hot dogs-with or without chili—hamburger barbeque sandwiches, candy/snacks, donuts, coffee and drinks will be sold at the food tent beginning at 9 a.m.

The second annual chicken barbecue at the Big Moose Fire Hall, hosted by the Big Moose Fire Co. will be held from 11 a.m. until all sold out. The cost is $12 and includes a half-chicken, corn on the cob, salt potato and drink.

You can eat in or take out., however advance tickets are not being sold. Funds raised will benefit the fire company’s general operating funds.

Jolly Mooser members will be selling raffle tickets for a basket of moose- and Adirondack-themed items and gift certificates. Proceeds of the raffle will be divided between the two local food pantries.

Last year’s raffle raised over $800 for the food pantries.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and will be available during the craft fair or from any Jolly Mooser member until the drawing that will take place on Tuesday, August 12 at the Jolly Moosers annual summer dinner at Big Moose Inn.  The winner does not need to be present.

Raffle tickets will also be available for an afghan and pillow, handmade by a Jolly Mooser, with proceeds directed to the Big Moose Fire Co. That drawing will be held on Saturday, August 30th.

Proceeds raised from the Jolly Moosers Bake Sale, Crafts and Flea Market are also allocated to numerous local groups and fire and rescue companies.

The Jolly Moosers of Big Moose have been supporting the local community since 1956.  Over 90 women are members.
