Photographic History of Inlet program slated Wednesday, July 16

The Inlet Historical Society will present a program, A Photo-graphic History of Inlet, at the Inlet Town Hall on Wednesday, July 16 at 7 p.m. The public and all members are invited to attend.

Using photographs and postcards from collectors, former and present Town residents, the Town’s collection and from his own collection, Charles Herr will present the story of Inlet and some of the people important to the Town’s growth in the 20th century in a chronological review of the development of the Town of Inlet.

The program is similar to one presented by Herr in 2011, and audience participation is welcome as he retells the story of Inlet’s history.

The presentation will include more photographs than the previous one and includes more of the people who were part of Inlet’s past.

Names such as Rogers, Moshier, Wilkins, Blakeman, Graves, Scott, Rudd, Decker and others should recall past memories of Inlet’s Main Street.

Members are invited to renew their membership at this time and the public is encouraged to consider becoming members to support the Society’s efforts to collect, preserve and present the heritage of Inlet’s people and their history.
