Lakeside Terrace hosting free Tai Chi classes

An eight-week Tai Chi exercise class for seniors wanting to improve their strength and balance will be held in the Community Room of Lakeside Terrace in Old Forge on Tuesdays from 2 to 3 p.m. beginning June 3rd.

The classes, instructed by Eileen Tobin, are free of charge and limited to 25 participants.

Registration is available by calling Herkimer County Office for the Aging at (315) 867-1121. 

Herkimer County Office for the Aging and Herkimer County HealthNet, along with other community partners, were awarded a $50,000 grant from the Health Foundation for Western and Central New York to implement a Falls Prevention: “Step Up to Stop Falls” program in Herkimer County.

As part of the program, The Office for the Aging will also be conducting home safety assessments for seniors.
