Library presents Nature Writing Workshop, Sept. 21

The Adirondack Center for Writing (ACW) and the Old Forge Library will co-sponsor  a day-long Nature Writing Workshop on Saturday, September 21 at the pavilion at Nicks Lake State Campground.

Robin Kimmerer will lead participants in writing exercises to develop experience, thoughtful reflection, and strong communication. The workshop will explore techniques to reveal the stories that live in a landscape in both material and metaphor.

She is also the founding Director of the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment, whose mission is to create programs which draw on the wisdom of both indigenous and scientific knowledge for our shared goals of sustainability.

The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fee is $60 for members of the Adirondack Center for Writing or $70 for non-members, with limited scholarships available.
