The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks’  Food Kart Day on Saturday, July 6, held in support of the Webb Community Food Pantry was highly successful thanks to the generosity of shoppers at Kalil’s Market in Inlet, DiOrio’s Supermarket in Old, Forge, Dan’s Food Mart in Eagle Bay, and Kinney Drugs in Old Forge.

At the end of the day, Kiwanis volunteers collected and transported over three pickup truck loads of food items to the Webb Community Food Pantry located at St. Bartholomew’s Church for distribution as needed. Volunteers also collected over $400 in cash donations.

The Webb Community Food Pantry, is always in need of additional non-perishable food items, and Eileen Tobin, food pantry coordinator, expressed her sincere thanks.

“The cooperation of the store owners was outstanding and the generosity of the shoppers who took the extra time to purchase an item for the Food Pantry was rewarding to see,” said Bill Baumann, Kiwanis secretary and event chairperson.

Baumann offered a special thanks to the over 20 Counselors in Training from YMCA Camp Gorham at Dart’s Lake who assisted with the food collection.
