Inspection Service issues alert for phony e-mails

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service has issued the following crime alert due to fraudulent e-mails which have recently been sent to postal customers:

Some postal customers are receiving bogus e-mails about a package delivery or online postage charges. The e-mails contain a link or attachment that, when opened, installs a malicious virus that can steal personal information from your PC. Continue reading

Postal Service hosts seminar for area business owners

Cathy Glasheen, Customer Relations Coordinator for the U.S. Postal Service will present a Grow Your Business seminar at View, the arts center in Old Forge, on Wednesday, May 7 at 2 p.m.

During the program, Glasheen will present the many services provided by the U.S. Postal Service that will help your business grow in advertising and shipping while saving you money.

Old Forge Postmaster Rich Ventura and Raquette Lake Postmaster Mary Lamphear will also be on hand to answer questions and help business owners obtain a Customer Retail ID to start their savings. Attendees are asked to bring along their business cards for a special drawing.
