We, The Cousins That Care of Inlet, NY, held our 3rd Annual 5k Run/Walk at The OleBarn Restaurant on Saturday, August 15.
It was a perfect Summer morning and we had a great turnout.
The top three male finishers were: Chris Shaw, 40, of Silver Springs, MD with a time of 17.03; Jonah Simpson, 16, of Rochester, NY with a time of 17.43; and Phil Huber, 43, of Inlet, NY with a time of 21.22. Continue reading

The Cousins That Care will host their annual fundraising Spaghetti Dinner at the Ole Barn in Inlet on Sunday, September 14 beginning at 4 p.m.
The dinner will include spaghetti, meatballs, sausage, garlic bread, salad, dessert and beverage. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under. Children under the age of three are admitted free. Take outs will be available.
Proceeds of the event will support the charitable work of The Cousins That Care, a group of seven young cousins who raise funds for charities, scholarships, and families in need.

The Cousins that Care 5K Run/Walk had a total of forty participants and raised about $4,500 on Saturday, August 23rd at The Ole Barn in Inlet, according to the the group’s founder, Melanie Levi.
“Attendance was less than last year, but the weather definitely didn’t help,” Levi said.
The 5k Run/Walk sponsored by Inlet’s Cousins That Care will begin at 8 a.m. from the Ole Barn parking lot on Limekiln Lake Rd. on Saturday, August 23rd.
The 5k course is part trail and part paved road. It follows a snowmobile trail to Gilbert Rd., turns onto the South Shore, and links up with Route 28 to Limekiln Rd. Continue reading
In a pure demonstration of the act of “paying it forward,” The Cousins That Care of Inlet recently received a donation in the amount of $1,000 from the family of Allison Wyatt who was one of the victims of the December 2012 Sandy Hook School shooting in Newtown, CT.

Soon after the tragedy, the Cousins That Care sent donations to all the families who lost a loved one, and included a note that they do something with the money that would bring a smile to their faces.
The Wyatt family was so touched by the work of the Cousins, who regularly raise funds for special causes near and far, that they wanted to help them continue their efforts to help others.
