Cousins That Care 5K Run/Walk set Saturday, August 24 in Inlet

The 5k Run/Walk sponsored by Inlet’s Cousins That Care will begin at 8 a.m. from the Ole Barn parking lot on Limekiln Lake Rd. on Saturday, August 24th.

The 5k course is part trail and part paved road. It follows a snowmobile trail to Gilbert Rd., turns onto the South Shore, and links up with Route 28 to Limekiln Rd.

Registration fee is $30. Registration is available at www.cousinsthatcare.com, or participants can sign-up prior to the start of the race.

A post-event auction and raffle of a number of items donated by local businesses will be held at the Ole Barn following the race. You need not be present at the time of the raffles to win.

Proceeds of the event will support the charitable work of The Cousins That Care, a group of seven young cousins who raise funds for  charities, scholarships, and families in need.

Inlet’s ‘Cousins That Care’ pay it forward with KYAC donation

The Cousins that Care, seven Inlet cousins who raise money for special causes, made a $1,000 donation to the Kommunity Youth Activity Center in Old Forge on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th.

The funds came from the Charlotte Bacon Act of Kindness Award, a “pay it forward” award the children received in February through the recently created Newtown Kindness Foundation, in recognition of their charitable contributions to the families who lost their children to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings on December 14, 2012.

Cousins to host spaghetti dinner

The Cousins that Care will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, September 18 at the Ole Barn on Limekiln Road in Inlet. The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m

The dinner will raise funds for local charities, sponsorships, and Zippy’s Crusade for Kids. The menu will include spaghetti, meatballs, sausage, garlic bread, salad, dessert and a beverage with take out options available.

The cost is $8.50 for adults and $5.50 for children. Children ages three and under will be admitted free.
