Area towns to take part in National Trails Day celebration

The Town of Inlet will celebrate its 13th consecutive year of National Trails Day hikes with a hike to Lost Pond and Helldiver Pond in the Moose River Plains Recreation Area on Saturday, June 7th.

Anyone wishing to take the hike can meet Mitch Lee at the Inlet Information Office at 9 a.m.

Participants should dress accordingly for the hike, wear proper footwear, pack a lunch, and bring bug repellent.  Continue reading

CAP-21 to host Hanging Basket Potting Party

The Central Adirondack Partnership for the 21st Century (CAP-21) will be holding its 16th Annual Hanging Flower Basket Party on Wednesday, June 11 at 4 p.m., at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street in Old Forge. All are welcome to come and help.  Continue reading

Chicken BBQ set for View’s Neighbor Day

North Woods Lodge #849 F&AM and Dewey Old Forge Chapter #449 OES will be manning the grills and cooking up 200 meals at the Chicken BBQ during Neighbor Day at View on Sunday, June 8th.

Dinner includes a half chicken, potato salad, beans, roll, dessert, and drink and is available from noon to 4 p.m. or until it is sold-out. The cost is $12 and pre-reservations will be accepted by contacting Jan Park at (315) 369-6889.

Shuttle service available for View’s Albedor event

Ticket holders for the View benefit at the Albedor on Saturday, June 14 will have the opportunity to take a shuttle bus to the event. Limited seats are available by calling View at (315) 369-6411, ext. 201.

The bus, provided by Town of Webb School, will depart from View at 4:30 p.m. and return at 7 p.m. Other patrons who will be attending the event are encouraged to carpool from View as parking is limited at the venue.  Continue reading
