Webb UFSD continues public budget meetings; vote set May 15

The Town of Webb UFSD Board of Education has approved a proposed 2012–2013 budget that will be put up for vote on Tuesday, May 15th.

The proposed budget shows a .26 percent increase of $19,829 over last year’s budget, bringing the total proposed budget amount to $7,572,695.

Superintendent Rex Germer said the increase is largely due to basic inflationary costs and increases in the cost of general operations and health care.

The budget, he said, serves to satisfy the requirements of the district’s existing contracts while also providing for state requirements. Continue reading

Ask Rosy Rox

Old Forge: A great summer place, but a quick getaway is nice too!

Hey this is Rosy RoX, the girl around town, in the know and here to answer your questions. So, bring them on, along with your problems, at: rosyrox.adk@gmail.com.

Rosy’s Random Review:

Summer is coming up. Everyone knows what that means. Beaches, vacations, and everyone’s favorite water park is opening back up.

Water Safari is New York’s largest water park, and it’s practically in our backyard. They have tons of water and dry rides. They also have an arcade, a barn, an enchanted forest, and a cool circus.

If you’re a local, it is most likely you’ve been there billions of times. I know I have. It’s definitely something to look forward to when the summer arrives.

Dear Rosy RoX,

I really want to go somewhere for summer vacation, but my parents keep telling me no. I want to at least have one cool summer story. What now?
