Lorraine Stripp: A life taken too soon by Alzheimer’s

To the Community,

It’s been nearly two years since my mom, Lorraine Stripp passed away. They have been the most painful and tear-filled years of my life. What I wouldn’t give for just one more hug, one more kiss, one more word of encouragement.

I miss her more than I ever thought possible—she was my champion, my rock, my source of strength. Each day gets a little better. Now, there are more good days than bad, and it’s comforting to know she and my brother Dave are watching over our family, never really too far away.

As you may have heard, this year’s Alzheimer’s Walk in Inlet is in memory of my mom. Come join my family and our friends on Saturday, June 15 and walk with us to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association.

If you can’t join in the fun, then consider donating by going to the Town of Inlet Walk to End Alzheimer’s website at: ttp://act.alz.org/inlet. The website has more information about the walk, how you can donate or even start your own team.

I know money is tight for many of us, and I certainly understand the hesitation to donate. Please just take a few moments to remember how my mom was a part of your life through Kinderwood, the Arts Center, Sorority, Niccolls Church, the TOW school; however she touched your life.

Honor her memory with a gift that will help stop the disease that ended her life too soon.

With heartfelt thanks and appreciation,

Susie Stripp, Old Forge
