Summer registration under way at School of the Old Forge Ballet Co.

Registration is underway at the School of The Old Forge Ballet Company for July and August 2013. Classes will run for six weeks beginning July 7 through August 17th.

Artistic Director Sue Ann Lorenz-Wallace,  and Linda Lorenz LaDue, former artistic director of The Old Forge Ballet Co., head the teaching staff.

The Cecchetti Method of classical ballet training is the curriculum taught at the school.

Teachers at the Company School are highly trained in the Cecchetti Method and have taken and successfully completed Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, London, England examinations by USA and world-wide examiners.

Various levels of classes are offered, from Advanced Dance classes in Cecchetti Classical Ballet Technique for male and female students ages two to adult, with Pre-Ballet for ages two to four. Pointe Work and Repertoire are included in classes at the appropriate age level.

Ballroom classes for singles and doubles and Tap and Jazz classes are available for students ages eight to adult.

Tuition is $6/hour for children and $8/hour for adults. There is a registration fee of $10 for new students. Drop-in students are welcome. Attire can be purchased through the school.

Summer students have the opportunity to begin preparation for the 2013 Nutcracker performance by the Old Forge Ballet Co. in December.

The ballet school and company is located at the North Woods Community Center on Crosby Blvd. in Old Forge.
