CAP-21 invites public input on Central Ad’k Environmental Center

CAP-21 invites the public to a meeting at the Old Forge Library on Wednesday, April 10 to discuss ideas and concepts pertaining to establishing a Central Adirondacks Laboratory for Environmental Studies (CALES).

The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the library’s  Community Room.

Project consultants Phinney Design Group and ELAN Planning & Design will be making presentations on their research and market analysis and are specifically seeking public comment and recommendations.

All are invited to come and share their vision and provide thoughts and ideas on what such a project should include such as environmental research and education, opportunities for forest and water eco-tourism, and opportunities for environmentally focused arts and cultural heritage.

Those present are also welcome to share their ideas on possible uses for the former Arts Center building on Route 28 in Old Forge.

The CALES project has been funded by the NYS Department of State through a grant with the Town of Webb. The project has been conceptualized by the Central Adirondacks Arts & Science Advocacy (CAASA) and has been administered by CAP-21.

More information is available by calling  CAP-21 at (315) 369-3353 or at info@cap-21.org. Although not necessary, an RSVP would be appreciated.
