Mark James Gebhardt died suddenly at his Caledonia, NY home on March 7, 2013. Born on November 24, 1945 to Marcelle Jouvet Gebhardt and Charles R. Gebhardt, Mark grew up in Old Forge, NY where he was educated at the Town of Webb Schools.
Upon graduation, Mark attended the Utica School of Commerce and then moved to Rochester and Caledonia where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Mark is survived by four siblings: Annette (Art) Eyre of Old Forge, NY; Frank (Marylou) Gebhardt of Rainbow Springs, FL; Robert (Johnnie) Gebhardt of East Pinehurst, SC; and Marcelle (Bill) Cecchin of Grass Valley, CA.
He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and several great nephews and a niece.
Mark was known for his generosity of spirit, his love of the outdoors, and especially the love he had for his family and many friends, particularly those with whom he worked.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held for Mark in Old Forge in the spring.
