AEDC receiving $2M funds to help with Adirondack business climate

In round two of the Regional Economic Development Council Awards, Governor Cuomo announced that the Adirondack Economic Development Corporation, Inc. will receive $2 million for the formation of an AEDC Community Transformation Tourism Fund.

The Adirondack Economic Development Council will manage the fund with the intent to award grants or loans to businesses throughout the Adirondack Park that rely on tourism for their livelihood.

Such businesses include campsites, restaurants, motels, and retail stores, among others. Funds will be considered through an application process, much like Main Street Grant funding, said Nick Rose, executive director of CAP-21.

Potential funds are available to assist a business with necessary improvements or building repairs that will help keep them afloat.
