Nearly 140 children and adults attended the Bob Thayer Memorial Holiday Movie for Kids event at the Strand Theatre on Saturday, December 15.

‘The event was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks.

All enjoyed free admission to the featured film, Rise of the Guardians, while the children also received a drink and popcorn at no charge.

Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted the kids and those under the age of 10 received presents and books.

The kids also received a copy of the book, “The Final Daze of Summer,” written and donated by Carol and Gary Van Riper.

Following the movie, a team of Kiwanians and Town of Webb School Key Club and Builders Club members assisted with clean-up of the theater.

The Kiwanis Club expressed thanks to all those in the community who have so generously contributed to the various fund raising events that make programs like this possible.
