To date, friends of the late Kirsty Sutherland have raised over $2,700 in support of the Alex Sutherland Scholarship Fund.

Almost half of the funds, $1,345, have been generated through the sale of raffle tickets to win a kayak provided by Connie Perry of Frisky Otter Tours.

Ticket sales will continue during area events throughout the winter season with the drawing scheduled for Saturday, February 23 at Inlet’s Frozen Fire and Lights festival.

Raffle tickets are currently available at the Inlet and Old Forge Visitor Centers as well as at the Adirondack Reader/ French Louie’s, Frisky Otter Tours, and the Wine Shop in Inlet, the Tavern in Eagle Bay, and the Park Avenue Hair Studio in Old Forge.

Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25 and the winner will have their choice of an Elie Sound 120XE or an Elie Strait 120 kayak.

Raffle organizers are especially grateful for the efforts of Robin Dwyer, Carolyn Belknap, Shelby and Amy Townsend, Laura Levi, Gordi and Haley Christodaro, and Linda and Bob Gordon on Alex’s behalf.

They also thank the hundreds of community members and area visitors who have already supported the fundraiser by buying tickets.

Keep the raffle tickets in mind during the holidays… they would make great gifts or stocking stuffers!
