The Big Moose Community Chapel held an election of officers at its annual congregation meeting on Sunday, August 26.
Officers elected were: Barbara Morgan, president; Judy Bean, vice-president; Richard Williams, clerk; Diane Adams, treasurer; and Jill Kurtz, assistant treasurer.
New trustees elected for three-year terms were: Diane Adams, Daniel Conable, Barbara Getty, Connie Menand, Robert Scherfling, Kenneth Stankiewicz, and Mary White.
The Outreach Committee reported that $9,956 was donated to area non-profit agencies and charities.
It was announced that the Chapel belfry will be repaired this fall to correct the August 2011 water damage by Hurricane Irene.
The Chapel has now gained listing on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
Rev. Dr. Richard McCaughey was returned to preach for the ten weeks of the 2013 season.
Outgoing president Lorraine Schunck and other trustees whose terms ended were thanked for their faithful service to the Chapel, a landmark since 1931.
