Please remember to support our neighboring ambulance services

To the Editor:

In June I was diagnosed with acute appendicitis at the Town of Webb Health Center.

The Old Forge Ambulance was unable to respond, but within the hour Inlet Volunteer Ambulance arrived and transported me to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica.

Without the efforts of the Inlet Ambulance, especially driver Bob Gordon and EMT Sarah Dew, I might have died.

Sarah drove in from Big Moose to answer the call, and Bob picked her up in Eagle Bay on the way to rescue me.

My family and I are so grateful to everyone who helped me survive the rupture of my appendix.

As a resident of Old Forge, I had not thought to support the Inlet Volunteer Ambulance.

Now I urge residents and visitors to support all our local volunteer services with your donations.

This time my gratitude and my check are sent to Inlet.

Thank you,

Thea Martin, Old Forge
