Frog Jump Contest: Participants, spectators enjoy hopping good time

The Annual Father’s Day Frog Jumping Contest held Sunday, June 17, on the Old Forge tennis courts, brought out frogs of all sizes and their young handlers who entered them in the contest.

Several dads, wearing outrageous ties entered the Ugly Tie Contest, which was won by Eric Hopkins of Buckingham, PA and Old Forge.

The Traveling Trophy for the fastest business-sponsored frog was awarded to George Pearson of Stump Ugly Stump Removal.

The frog was entered by his granddaughter, Alayna Pearson.

The Central Adirondack Association would like to thank everyone who came to the Annual Father’s Day Frog Jumping Contest.

The following children were awarded trophies for their frogs in the following categories:Lightest Frog: 1st place – Brandon Merrick of Stittville; 2nd place – Palmer Frog of Webster; 3rd place – Abigail Eddy of Old Forge.

Heaviest Frog: 1st place – Donald & Ethan Tonkinson of Newark; 2nd place – Julia & Caitlin Mazzotta of Old Forge; 3rd place – George Pearson of Central Square.

Longest Jump: 1st place – Evelyn Buckley of Vernon; 2nd place – Anna Eddy of Old Forge; 3rd place – Julie Brosemer of Thendara.

Fastest Jump: 1st place – Alayna Pearson of Central Square; 2nd – Brycen Atwell of Oriskany; 3rd – Julia & Caitlin Mazzotta of Old Forge.
