CAP-21, Town of Webb team up on community block grant effort

The Town of Webb has agreed to enter into a grant application prepared by CAP-21 on behalf of the town for a community block grant.

Proceeds of a successful grant application could provide for infrastructure improvements, public service programs and business development, according to Supervisor Ted Riehle.

He described some projects that could benefit.“With regard to infrastructure improvements, there are a number of things the town is currently working on. We’ve got an upgrade and rehab of our existing water tower and water system. Also Lock and Dam in Thendara,” he said.

As for public service programs, the board has been discussing public bathrooms.

Improvement work at the McCauley Mountain chalet could fit into this grant application as well, Riehle said.

The town board agreed to participate in the grant application at its monthly meeting held Tuesday, June 12th.

Also, the town board agreed to again join CAP-21 as a flower partner by donating $225 toward the beautification effort that involves hanging and maintaining flowers along prominent local roadways.

CAP-21 conducts the town’s hanging basket program each summer with the help of community donations and volunteers.
