Summer in Town of Inlet: Contributors sought for Ping-Pong Ball Drop

On July 4, approximately seven hundred children will have the opportunity to take their turn racing onto a baseball field with hopes of collecting three ping-pong balls that they can then turn in for prizes.

Beginning at 1 p.m. on July 4, 2012 children are asked to gather in Inlet’s Fern Park and wait for the ping-pong balls to be dropped by Payne’s Air Service who has volunteered their service and time for this event.

Prizes include gift certificates, prizes from local shops, free passes to local attractions, snacks provided through donations made by local businesses, and novelty toys that have been purchased by the Inlet Youth Commission. Those who wish to contribute to this event are asked to contact the Inlet Information Office before Monday, June 11.

If you have an item you wish to have donated, it may be dropped off at the Inlet Information Office, or pickup can be arranged by calling 357-5501.

Monetary donations, gift certificates and passes may be mailed to: Inlet Youth Commission, PO Box 412, Inlet, NY 13360.

Volunteers are also important to this event. The more hands helping, the happier everyone will be.
