Dragonfly Cottage and Vintage Marketplace, a new shop at 2987 Main Street in Old Forge will open its doors on Friday, May 25 and will feature a number of vendors offering antiques, art, vintage treasures, and handmade gifts.

The proprietor, Tina Timm Snow, whose re-purposed vintage items will be among the vendor articles on display throughout the first and second floors, said that the shop’s name reflects her love of dragonflies and “everything whimsical.”

She has two dollhouse factory studios on the second floor, which will be her ongoing project during slower periods, she said, adding that visitors will be able to watch as the construction unfolds over the summer. Marketplace Vendor shops, which offer space for artists, crafters and collectors are popular in many areas, according to Dawn Timm, who also has a display of antiques and vintage collectibles in the shop.

Other marketplace items include vintage jewelry by Patti Delano; oil paintings by local artist Greg Klein, homemade candles by Heather Klein, and nature photographs by Sue Kiesel, all intermingled on both floors of the Dragonfly Cottage.

Other vendors include Dennis DeStefanis with his hand-thrown pottery, Marti Evanoff with vintage articles, Penny Smedley with antiques, Bob Kennerknecht, also with antiques, and Kelly Liddell with various vintage treasures.

Dragonfly Cottage will be open Memorial Day Weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and it will continue to be open on weekends until the end of June.

The shop will be open seven days a week through July and August. Tina said she will be taking part in the First Friday Art Walk on June 1, and has planned the grand opening of her shop to coincide with the popular monthly event.
