Herkimer County offers internship opportunities to businesses, students

The Herkimer County Legislature, in partnership with the Herkimer Working Solutions One Stop Career Center, has announced that it will again offer the College Corps. Internship Program.

This program is a 200-hour summer internship targeted at Herkimer County college students entering their junior or senior year next the fall.

These young adults are placed with a local employer whose business or service most closely matches their chosen field of study.The purpose is to expose them to interesting career opportunities available in this area.

In addition, local businesses are able to see that this area is rich in homegrown talent, further leading to the attraction of new business and industry to our region.

Students will earn an hourly wage of $9 with salary costs shared between the county and the prospective employer.

Interested students or local businesses willing to provide an internship experience are asked to fill out applications as soon as possible.
