Free dance classes available Fridays for winter

In an effort to enhance the cultural atmosphere of Old Forge and surrounding areas, The School of the Old Forge Ballet Company is conducting free classes on Fridays throughout the winter to Adirondack Park residents.

This is a terrific opportunity for an adult or child who has always wanted to take a dance lesson, but was unable to make a long-term commitment to a program or performance.

Classes in Ballet, Tap & Jazz, Ballroom, Beginning Piano, Introduction to Performance and Workshops in Latin and Modern Dance are offered for students ages pre-school to adult.Community classes begin at 3:30 p.m. and continue until 7:30 pm on Fridays at the North Woods Community Center, 110 Crosby Blvd. in  Old Forge.

Participants can take one of the classes or are welcome to stay for the complete program.

Participants are also welcome to apply to the Ballet School and prepare for the summer performance and annual “Nutcracker” ballet.

More information is available from Ballet School Director Sue Ann Lorenz-Wallace at (315) 369-8721 or emailing oldforgeballet@roadrunner.com.
