Webb School readies stage production

Rehearsals are now underway for the Town of Webb School’s Drama Department production of Anything Goes, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17, at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

This classic Broadway musical features an unforgettable score by Cole Porter, with songs that include, It’s De-Lovely, I Get A Kick Out Of You, Friendship, and Anything Goes.It’s set aboard an American ocean liner where nightclub singer/evangelist Reno Sweeney (Andrea Frey) is en route from New York to England.

Her pal Billy Crocker (Joey Estivaine) has stowed away to be near his love, Hope Harcourt (Haley Josephson), but the problem is, Hope is engaged to the wealthy Lord Evelyn Oakleigh (Nick Liszczynskyj).

Joining this love triangle on board the luxury liner are Public Enemy #13, Moonface Martin (Colin Criss) and his sidekick-in crime Erma (Caitlin Bailey).

With the help of some elaborate disguises, sailors, and good old-fashioned blackmail, Reno and Martin join forces to help Billy in his quest to win Hope’s heart.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors 62 and over, and $5 for students.

The show is under the direction of Anne DeFilipps and Valerie Gaudin, Vocal Music Director.
