Letter to the Editor: Better Solution- Give nature chance to create cold, snowy Ad’k winters

To the Editor:

Just a thought for Richard Risley… I can see the future now. I’m a mile back in the woods listening to a loon calling and dreaming of a Brookie chasing my fly when I hear the gentle sound of a dozen engines revving up. I step off the trail just in time to save my life as a beer can whistles past my ear. ATVs on the trails. What a wonderful idea. It will be like having Nascar all year.

Mr. Risley, you seemed confused over the changes in snowfall amounts. Please do a little reading about the last forty years of Adirondack winter and you will have a clear understanding of what is happening.

It’s not “nature having its way with us,” it’s climate change.Give nature a chance and start voting for people who will do something about those Midwest power plants, car companies who produce gas guzzles and other polluters of our air and water. Mother Nature can create cold and snowy winters again here in the

Adirondacks if we give her a chance to recover from our damage.

When you look at the woods, streams and mountains do you only see them as a way of making money from tourists? For me this is the most beautiful place on earth. I want other generations to love this world and to have the peace and serenity that I have had for my lifetime.
