Old Forge Library plans annual Poetry & Illustration workshops

Poetry and Illustration Workshops with an instructional element will be offered to students in grades K-12 and adults prior to the Old Forge Library’s annual Poetry and Illustration Contest deadline of March 1.

This year’s contest theme is, Mountains and Valleys, and is open to residents of Herkimer, Madison, and Oneida counties as well as the town of Inlet.

Poetry Workshops will be held Saturday, January 21, from 10 a.m. to noon under the instruction of Star Livingstone, Melissa Macdonald, and Paula Roy. Illustration Workshops will be held Saturday, January 28 from 10 a.m to 12:30 p.m. for students in grades K through 6 and 7 through 12; and adult workshops will be held from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

Instructors are Karen Beck, Mitch Lee, and Sue Freese.

Participants in the workshops are not required to enter their work in the contest and contest entrants are not required to attend the workshops.

Walk-ins for the workshops are welcome however pre-registration by calling the library at (315) 369-6008 is preferred.
