Polar Bears say thanks for all yurt help

The parents, coaches and especially the skiers, of the Polar Bear Ski Club, would like to give an enormous thank you to all who helped make the new yurt a reality.

Some local ski racers pose in front of their new race prep facility at McCauley Mountain.

Special thanks go to Will Hollister for researching, gathering information, and presenting the findings to the Town Council.

This is where it began, garnered approval and a guaranteed amount of monetary support from the Town Council.

Thanks to the generosity of the Enchanted Forest/Water Safari, and proceeds raised from the Charity Go-Cart races, the Polar Bears were able to build a substantial monetary foundation.

Thank you Noonan Family and Water Safari staff for your sponsorship and support.

The Polar Bears would also like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Rick Pugliese for making a donation towards the yurt’s heating system, and of course Helmer’s Fuel for the heat and the labor it took to install.

Thank you to Meyda Lighting for lights, George Reisinger for carpet installation, and Bruce Hodge for completing the electrical work.

The Polar Bears would like to send a heart felt thank you to all the men who helped build the yurt: Will Hollister, Tony Lawrence, Jim Holt, Terry Murray, Tim Barkauskas, Eric Sutherland, Tim Bolton, Tim Kane, Don Murphy and his crew, and Steve Uzdavinis and the McCauley Mountain crew.

Thank you Bob DiOrio and DiOrio’s for providing lunch to all the volunteers.

We hope that the large numbers of families and racers visiting for the Kandahar Festival in February will see what a gem McCauley truly is.

Bringing new families to Old Forge to shop in our stores, eat in our restaurants, and stay at our lodges is the Polar Bear Ski Club’s way of giving back to the community that has helped us so much.

Thank you again for all the support and community involvement in a great project!
