View: Old Forge’s Arts Center View Finders opens Friday; exhibit to showcase works of renowned Adirondack photographers

An exhibition of work by the most celebrated photographers in the Adirondacks— Nathan Farb, Mark Bowie, Nancie Battaglia, and Carl Heilman—will open with a reception at View in Old Forge on Friday, December 2 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The photographic exhibit, View Finders, will also include the work of some newer voices in Adirondack photography, Johnathan A. Esper, Lesley Dixion, and Old Forge’s Clark Lubbs. It will be on display through March 3.

Running simultaneously will be an exhibit of work by stone sculptor Matt Horner, and also a photographic display titled, “Teachers Turn: Instructors from the Adirondack Photography Institute.”

View Finders will feature vast perspectives of the Adirondacks as seen through the lenses of the award-winning photographers.

Admission is $10/$5 members and groups of six or more. Children under the age of 12 will be admitted free of charge.

On Saturday, December 3 at 11 a.m., Mark Bowie will give a presentation on nighttime photography, Night Over the North Country.
