Lori Herron named new KYAC director

Lori Herron of Old Forge has been selected as the new director of Kommunity Youth Activity Center (KYAC) in Old Forge. Lori moved to Old Forge from Connecticut in 2000 to work for Lynn University as an admissions counselor. Before moving to Old Forge, she worked for the Department of Children Services in New Haven, CT.

She is married to local businessman and Town of Webb councilman, J.B. Herron. They have two children, Natalie and James, who attend the Town of Webb School.

“I am very excited to be a part of KYAC, and I look forward to meeting the students and their families. This year we have some fresh ideas for the center, and I encourage feedback from the students and the community,” she said.

The youth center is available to all students ages 12 and older. It is located on Crosby Blvd. in the Northwoods Community Center building.

The center will be reopening on Wednesday, October 12. Hours of operation are Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m.

On Friday, October 14, Lori will host an Open House to get acquainted with students and parents and to show the public all KYAC has to offer.
