LETTER: One promising presidential person stands above

To the Editor:

I’d like to put in my “two cents” in regard to the upcoming New York State primary.* I realize “two cents” means nothing in comparison to “The Donald’s” millions, but maybe even my little contribution will carry some weight.

First of all, look at the contenders we have for the presidential nominations.

Mr. Trump, although he might be a multi-successful businessperson, certainly has no diplomatic expertise. He would have our country in dire straights soon, surely, if he were to take office; even causing turmoil within his own party.

As for Mr. Cruz, his background of integrity and straightforwardness will be to his advantage for sure, but can he gain enough support?

The candidate Mr. Kasich is doing the most good, as someone drawing votes away from Trump.

Now the Democratic ticket… God love Mrs. Clinton—more power to her if she can swing it—we’ll see after the primary.

And then there’s Bernie Sanders. He makes good points and he’s favored by the young people—which by the way I am not.

No disrespect intended, but Bernie is 73 years old! I can’t help but be aware of the toll the last two presidents’ terms took on them. They turned grey in front of our eyes… and poor Bernie Sanders is starting out that way!

I have one very promising solution, and I pray it comes to pass! A very young, capable, experienced fellow—our present speaker, Mr. Paul Ryan—stands at the ready; let’s go for it!

Very truly yours,

Bernie Green
