The Polar Bear Nordic Youth Team traveled to New Hampshire on Friday, March 4 to attend the biggest race of the season, the New England Bill Koch Festival, that took place on March 5 and 6th.
Coach Janine Phaneuf said the 2016 Festival was held with good snow cover and mostly sunny skies with the majestic White Mountains adding their grandeur and magic above the fields and forested trails of Great Glen trails in Pinkham Notch, NH.
Over 470 young racers participated in the event.
Saturday’s race was a Classic Sprint with a half-km loop for participants in grades 3 and 4, and a 1km loop for participants in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8.
