Webb: State Police investigation continues into fatal car accident

State Police in Remsen are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on State Route 28 in the Town of Webb.

The investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, Joshua C. Zbytniewski, age 20, from  New Hartford, NY and his passenger, Seth S. Luscomb, age 20, from New Hartford, NY were traveling south bound on State Route 28 when Zbyntniewski lost control of the vehicle on a curve in the roadway. 

The vehicle drifted off the west bound shoulder striking a snow embankment.

The vehicle became airborne landing approximately 30 feet before turning onto the passenger side and striking a tree.

Members from Old Forge Fire Department and Ambulance along with the Otter Lake Fire Department responded to the scene.

Luscomb was transported by Old Forge Ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Despite efforts from medical personnel, Zbytniewski was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
