Friends of the Old Forge Library invites all to its annual Bash, a wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres party that will be held Sunday, August 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the library.
A donation of $15 per person is appreciated.
During the event there will be a raffle for a basket of wine and mixers donated by Old Forge Liquors.
The size of the basket is growing in size due to additional donations by area restaurants. Tickets are $5 each.
A wide assortment of silent auction items are currently on display at the library, including original art, wildlife photography, handcrafted items and more.
Tickets are $2 or six for $10 and can be purchased in advance or the day of the Bash. Winners of the basket raffle and silent auction items need not be present to win.
Throughout the event there will be door prize giveaways including a basket of wine and snacks donated by Tug Hill Winery of Lowville, single bottles of wine donated by The Friends of the Library, and a bouquet of fresh flowers donated by Mountain Greenery.
Proceeds from the annual Bash fundraiser assist the Friends of the Old Forge Library with their support of library programs and events.
They provide assistance for the Adirondack Cultural Series each summer, the baking contest in February, food for the authors’ book fair, refreshments for programs presented at the library, and kitchen supplies.
They also provide the funding for the library to be part of the First Friday Art Walk experience while helping to pay for the food and/or beverages served.
The group organizes the annual library luncheon and treats library employees to lunch each year.
