Participants of our Senior Health Activities & Recreation Program (SHARP) had the awesome privilege to hear the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra in Arrowhead Park in Inlet on Friday evening, July 24.
It was an outstanding performance!
I want to thank Gerald Dupuis for helping us get some great seats and for the golf carts to help us get in to and out of this event.
I also want to thank the very courteous and helpful young men who escorted our Senior Citizens in the golf carts and treated them like royalty.
Last Wednesday (7/29), Benny’s Ice Cream was voted the yummiest experience enjoyed by SHARP!
Benny was very efficient and kind and not a bit overwhelmed by our presence at his shop.
Having ice cream in the morning before lunch was quite questionable for many of our participants, but that did not stop them from trying it!
It was a very warm, muggy, sunny day to enjoy the refreshment of ice cream and a round of miniature golf.
There was much debate on what the game is called: Nutty Putty, putt-putt or miniature golf.
But whatever you choose to call it, we had a great time and it was extra-special.
As one of our participants told me, it was the first time she’d ever played.
We always look forward to Wednesdays because we have such a good time when we get together!
If you are a Senior Citizen, you should really come and see what we are all about!
SHARP is a free program offered to all independent senior citizens from Woodgate to Raquette Lake.
We meet at Niccolls Memorial Church in Old Forge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday.
Lunch during our regular Wednesday sessions is provided by the Community Health & Wellness Fund (formerly the Town of Webb Health Center Fund).
