Raquette Lake Fire Department thanks Dean Pohl for assistance

The Officers and Members of the Raquette Lake Fire Department would like to recognize and thank Dean Pohl and Pohl Construction for the time, use of their heavy equipment and assistance in removing the old buildings on the newly purchased land across from the current Fire Hall.

The purchase of the land for a potential new Fire Hall was realized by the RLFD this past fall. The demolition of the existing buildings and removal of the debris seemed, at one time, almost impossible.

However, with a few volunteers, assistance from the Town, and most importantly the assistance of Dean, the property is now something that we can all be proud of.

Dean and the Pohl Construction Company declined any reimbursement for their efforts. We feel that this gift continues to demonstrate the Pohls’ commitment to the RLFD and to the town and citizens of Raquette Lake.

We have ongoing plans and challenges for the property but we certainly are moving in the right direction with the changes that have occurred thus far.

Thank you Dean Pohl and Pohl Construction. Your efforts are recognized and appreciated.
