A man sits tuning a lute while two people juggle. Behind them, a contortionist is stretching to prepare for her bit… A woman dressed as a milkmaid calls the cast into order and the entire crew bursts into activity, song, dance, comedy and flow into panoply of excitement.
The Merely Players of Upstate New York are ready to conquer Inlet’s Adirondack Renaissance and Fantasy Festival, in Fern Park Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and 12, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Merely Players are just part of the fun to be expected in this free event. The Renaissance group, Arethusa, that is known to play over 40 different instruments in a set, will also perform.
The thrilling fire act, Adamo Ignis, is preparing to astound festival goers. The tuneful pirate group, know as The Paddy Nappers Gypsies, will entertain as well. Fairies, belly dancers and battling knights and more will be part of the excitement, too.
Blackbeard’s Barbecue will be cooking food, served from a Pirate Ship. Guests will also be entertained by Magician Bobert the Great and Eyes of Isis Belly Dance Group.
