His photographs are colorful explorations of Adirondack scenery and are created by processing with high dynamic range software.

The images are then fused on aluminum.

Patterson’s pastels are impressionistic renderings of scenic sites afforded by mountain living. His love of color is evident in all his work, including his solid glass sculptures.

“Though each painting, glass work, or photograph, has a special meaning to me, I want the viewer to walk away with their own emotions from the work…in this way they also become part of the creative process,” he said.

Patterson’s work is currently on display at both Gallery 3040 and in a collaborative exhibit with artist Paula Ann Ford, Pastels and Photographs, on display through May 31 at VIEW,  the arts center in Old Forge.

Gallery 3040 is located at 3040 Main Street. More information is available by calling (315) 369-1059.
