Dorothy Haggblom, 91, of Old Forge, passed away April 19, 2015, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford.
She was born in Thendara, NY on July 14, 1923, the daughter of the late Jerry and Henrietta (Lane) Frappier. Dorothy attended Whitesboro and Utica schools.
Dorothy married Victor Haggblom on October 23, 1948. They enjoyed 56 happy years together before his death in February 2005.
She was the manager of Morrows Nut House in Utica, prior to becoming the assistant personnel manager at Sears Roebuck. She later became secretary for the Lasker Goldman Corporation in New York City, a position she held for 16 years before retiring in 1970.
Dorothy leaves her nieces, Linda Gorto of Wilkes Barre, PA, and Kerry Vermilyea and her husband, Thomas, of Ballston Lake, NY; nephew Thomas Jarvis of Ballston Lake; niece Kelly Willsey of OH and her father, Charles Willsey of NY; several cousins, and many dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Scoville, and a nephew, Neil Scoville of Gloversville, NY.
Her funeral will be held Friday, April 24 at 5 p.m. at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 128 Fern Avenue, Old Forge. Calling hours will precede the funeral, beginning at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 10 a.m.
